Significant work is required to open a new ASC. With so much attention being paid to critical tasks, such as choosing a location, building the center, purchasing the equipment, and adding staff, it can be easy to overlook a process vital to ensuring all this time and effort is not wasted: billing.
Without effective billing, a new ASC will struggle to get paid and may quickly find it lacks the money necessary to grow and succeed. Furthermore, if an ASC launches with a poor billing process, this can lead to lingering problems as the facility matures.
